A virus cannot replicate alone; it needs a host cell’s DNA in order to reproduce. Errors often occur during this process in which the virus’s genetic material is copied, creating mutations. This is how a virus that could initially only survive in an animal is now able to reproduce inside a human being.

Suppose a human had this ability – that a person could share their genetic material with other life forms. Mutations would arise in this too, mutations making it possible to survive in a drastically-changing environment.

That is what these drawings are about. I made them during the period when public life came to a standstill; a direct result of government measures to bring the corona crisis under control.
